McDonald’s will now open its first outlets in Jammu and Kashmir as part of its expansion plans, a top company official said today. McDonald’s are all set to open their first outlet in J&K and it will open at Residency Road in Jammu City. The construction is already under process for the McDonald’s opening in Jammu. Official’s confirm that it will open on 17th of August 2012.

“Right now we do not have any outlet in J&K. We currently have an outlet 80 kms before Jammu. Another one will automatically be opened in Jammu as we are looking at expanding to as many places as we can,” McDonald’s India Franchisee (North and East) Managing Director Vikram Bakshi told agencies on the sidelines of an event organised by CII.
“If we look at the period from September (2008) to now, our same-outlet sales have grown 15-18 per cent. Ours is a value brand and people are moving towards value,” he said. The company aims to add 40 points of sale by March 2010 with an investment of Rs 120 crore. At present, McDonald’s has 160 outlets in the country.
