NIT Srinagar is providing you with a lifetime opportunity of a very rare and an uncommon exposure with the flora and fauna amidst the beautiful Dachigam ranges  of Srinagar and its scenic wildlife. Such an event is being held for the very first time in the history of all the colleges of India. We begin our ascent at an elevation of 1800 meters and pass several riverine waterfalls, man-made wooden crossings, river crossings and reach our destination, a picture-perfect spot surrounded by mountains from all sides and with streams of Himalayan glaciers flowing alongside. The location is only a surplus, the wildlife such as Hangul (Kashmir Stag), Himalayan Black Bear, Leopards, Vipers, unmatched variety of birds and comprehensive greenery comprising of endangered plants that have immense medicinal value provide a perfect setting for a trekking event. Being in Kashmir, the least that we can do is to make sure we preserve our heritage that has been bestowed upon us by the almighty. We are lucky enough to have such a wide flora & fauna and immense natural heritage. How it will work:

The entire trekking program is co-sponsored by Wildlife SOS, a UK-based organization working for the protection of wildlife all over the globe. The guides from Wildlife SOS would be present at all moments during the trekking expedition along with trained volunteers from National Institute of Technology, Srinagar to ensure that everything goes as desired. Your safety will always be our prime concern and the routes as well as other specifications have been managed accordingly, such that every trekker is comfortable with the whole experience.
